House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin spoke on Tuesday after Democrats announced they had launched a $ 2.2 trillion stimulus bill.
Democrats pass a $ 2.2 trillion law after a week of discussions with White House members on how to draft a fifth aid bill. Previously, there was a motion of $ 3.4 trillion in May, but the Trump administration has offered to inject $ 1.3 trillion in efforts to generate an economy and curb the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic.
Pelosi and Mnuchin spoke for 50 minutes today in discussing the provisions of the latest proposal. However, both of them agreed to talk about it this Wednesday.
Pelosi says that they have agreed to compromise on the updated bill because the new plan has cut more than $ 1 trillion from its original plan.
Analysts believe there is doubt that Congress will approve another aid package before the November 3 presidential election. Political considerations are expected to play a major role in the discussions.
