White House chief of staff Mark Meadows on Sunday said the country no longer controls the spread of coronavirus outbreaks on the grounds that the outbreak is contagious like the flu.

Instead, Meadows explained that the government will focus on several methods that can reduce the rate of infection such as therapy, treatment or vaccines to prevent increased death.

To date, deaths in the United States (US) have exceeded 230,000 since the beginning of the pandemic.

This means that there will be no more local COVID-19 transmission measures to help reduce the infection in the country as required by the administration of US President Donald Trump.

Meadows also showed his support for Trump, taking the epidemic lightly, considering the wearing of face masks as mandatory and "community freedom" to make choices.

In contrast to Democratic presidential candidate who is also a strong rival of Trump, Joe Biden cares about the health of the US population with his plans to tackle the virus through the effective use of face masks, COVID-19 testing, PPE requirements, national economic reopening guidelines and vaccine distribution.

Cumulative cases in the US have reached almost 9 million to date and active cases are approaching 3 million. As of October 24, 83,718 most recent cases were recorded.

The presence of winter will further increase the impact of the epidemic and researchers predict the country will probably record more than 500,000 deaths by the end of February if the administration remains adamant to reduce state control
