France urges West Asian countries to stop boycotting their goods following President Emmanuel Macron's stance of defending the right to screen the cartoon of the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W).

According to the BBC, the French Foreign Ministry described the boycott as baseless and carried out by a group of radicals.

Many products from France have been seen no longer for sale in some stores in Kuwait, Jordan and Qatar.

Among the items that are no longer on display on the sales shelves are beauty products.

Protests were also reported in Libya, Syria and the Gaza Strip.

Macron was criticized after issuing the statement following the death of a French teacher, Samuel Paty after showing a cartoon drawing of the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) in his class.

He claimed that Paty was killed because the ‘Islamic terrorists’ wanted to seize the ‘future’ of France but the country would not ‘hand over their cartoons’.

Earlier this month, before Paty's assassination, Macron announced plans to enact stricter laws to deal with 'Islamic separatist groups' in France.

Meanwhile, political leaders in Turkey and Pakistan insisted that Macron did not respect religious freedom and marginalized millions of Muslims in France.

Yesterday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan suggested that Macron make a 'mental examination' of his views on Islam.
