According to the Singapore Civil Aviation Authority, the country will lift border restrictions on visitors from Australia and Vietnam from October 8.
This is because both countries have a comprehensive public health surveillance system and have shown success in controlling the spread of Covid-19 virus as well as the risk of transmission of the epidemic is low.
In addition, Singapore also lifted restrictions for tourists from Brunei Darussalam and New Zealand in early September.
Therefore, tourists from Vietnam and Australia, not including those from Victoria, can apply for an Air Travel Pass to enter Singapore from 1 October.
There are several conditions that apply to visitors, namely:
- Applicants must stay in both countries for 14 consecutive days before entry.
- Visitors will undergo a Covid-19 test upon arrival. If confirmed negatively, they will be allowed to carry out their activities without having to provide a Stay Notification Notice.
- All visitors must travel to Singapore by direct flight without transit.
- Visitors must download the government TraceTogether app on their mobile phones and continue to activate it during their stay in Singapore
- Visitors will also be responsible for any medical bills related to Covid-19 while in the country.
