Britain left the European Union last January and both sides are working to reach an agreement in trade before 31 December.

Since last week, both sides have agreed to conduct daily negotiations including weekdays until the end of this week and will set an agenda to intensify discussions for the coming weeks.

After some advances in competition guarantee including state aid regulations, the most difficult problem to overcome is the issue of fisheries. Boris Johnson remains of the view that the UK should retain rights over the waters, while the EU wants access to fishing waters.

Today's report reports that Minister Micahel Gove has stated the same thing as Boris Johnson's emphasis. He said in a letter sent to a minister stating that the UK would not back down from its demands to the European Union on fisheries issues.

The view held by the UK administration is that the UK must be an independent coastal country not bound by a common fisheries policy.

Earlier, spokesman Boris Johnson stated that the remaining time was very short and the UK had repeatedly clarified that every agreement had to be made before the deadline of the transition period. If an agreement is not reached, then the UK will leave the EU on Australian terms and conditions.

The pound sterling depreciated almost 0.50% to 1.2982 exchange rate against the US dollar.
