US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo arrived in New Delhi today to begin a visit to 4 countries in Asia allegedly facing threats from China.

Apart from that, the visit was also attended by the Secretary of Defense, Mark Esper. During the 2-day visit, Pompeo will hold talks following a spate of tensions between India and China since a deadly border battle in June.

In addition, India is rumored to want to get US cold weather equipment during the fight towards the Himalayan winter. Therefore, the matter will be raised when Pompeo and Esper meet Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh.

In addition, the world's 2 largest democracies are expected to sign an agreement to share geo-spatial intelligence and pave the way for the United States to deliver advanced missile technology.

Not only that! Esper will also discuss ways to increase cooperation between the two countries' military forces including intelligence sharing, increased joint training, and possible arms sales including US-owned F-18 fighter jets.

Next, Pompeo will visit Sri Lanka, the Maldives and Indonesia, all of which play an important role in the maritime traffic of the Indian Ocean where China has posed a threat to it.

According to the secretary of state, his meeting with the countries involved will include discussions on how independent countries can work together to thwart the threats posed by the Chinese Communist Party.
