The Tokyo Stock Exchange has confirmed that they will resume trading on Friday after closing all day today. It is the first incident in history and has frozen the buying and selling of thousands of companies in the worst case scenario in the third largest equity market in the world.

Unfortunately, all orders today have been canceled, and the opening price when the trading session is restarted will be the closing price on Wednesday.

This is due to technical problems encountered and decided to stop trading sessions throughout the day after consulting with market participants, who said it would be difficult to deal with their customers and execute orders.

In this regard, it has affected investor sentiment following yesterday's positive US stock market performance and closing in other major markets in the region, including China, Hong Kong, South Korea and Taiwan for public holidays.

In addition, it also happened on the first day of the new quarter and the second half of the Japanese fiscal year, when trading volume was usually high because it involved a lot of funds.

For all you know, the closure was the first time since the exchange switched to a fully electronic system in 1999. Previously, the system problems faced only affected part of the trading session.

Therefore, the Financial Services Agency is considering ordering the exchange to issue a report detailing the cause of the disruption and the steps it will take to prevent the incident from recurring.
