Microsoft Corp., which allegedly tried to evade Washington's investigation into Big Tech companies and has secured a $ 10 billion government contract under the Trump administration, has emerged as a staunch supporter of Biden's campaign.

According to a data source, the software company based in Redmond, Washington is the fourth largest contributor to the campaign committee of Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden.

In addition, the company’s president, Brad Smith played a key role behind the scenes, hosting fundraising for Biden last year in Medina, Washington. In fact, he is also the largest collector of dollars and an individual who helped raise more than $ 25,000 for Biden's campaign. Not only that! He also played a role during the Democratic National Convention, similar to Amazon.com Inc. policy chief Jay Carney.

In addition, Microsoft chief technology officer Kevin Scott and his wife have contributed more than $ 50,000 to the support committee to help Biden win. Meanwhile, Microsoft board member and LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman and his wife have also contributed to Biden's campaign by allocating more than $ 500,000 to Biden's winning fund.

Based on a statement made by one of the analysts, Microsoft has been involved in the political arena longer than other big technology companies. Even any company is bound by the law that can not carry out fundraising or donations.

A Microsoft spokesman said the company had a history of being involved with the administration on issues important to its business as well as revealing that the contributions were made by its employees without giving further details.

According to the campaign’s financial records, big tech companies including Microsoft have yet to appear in the list of top 20 contributors to Trump’s candidate campaign committee. However, Smith’s Microsoft, whose contribution has helped Democrats, has made several contributions to Republicans, including a $ 15,000 contribution to the Republican National Congress Committee.

However, a spokesman for the Biden campaign did not want to submit any feedback on the issue.
