Despite the pressure from the United States (US), TikTok is seen as not directly affected and continues to expand its 'influence'.

The firm has reportedly partnered with a Canadian e-commerce company, Shopify to help business companies produce advertising-shaped videos to promote their products.

Shopify announced that the collaboration will allow over a million sellers to market their products in the form of video ads.

TikTok users only need to click on the ad to purchase items through Shopify. The cooperation is only offered in advance in the US market at this time.

The two firms are planning to expand the collaboration across Europe and Southeast Asia early next year.

According to a TikTok spokesman, the company also plans to hire around 3,000 engineers for the next three years.

"TikTok's parent company ByteDance will hire engineers, mostly in Europe, Canada, the US and Singapore to support our rapid global growth," the spokesperson said.

A total of 1,000 engineers have been employed outside of China and almost half of them are based in California.

Last month, ByteDance planned to invest billions of dollars and recruit hundreds of workers in Singapore, which had been chosen as the headquarters for its operations in Southeast Asia.

Previously, TikTok was forced to sell its operations in the US or had to face restrictions in those countries.
