According to a recent report, Bitcoin wallets that have 1 or more BTC (wholecoiners) have contributed 95% of the total capitalization of the asset.
This means that the remaining 5% of market capitalization includes tens of millions of users with low asset balances from 1BTC.
The wholecoiner address record saw a consistent increase from year to year starting in 2009, with an estimated over 800,000 addresses despite the increasingly expensive value of Bitcoin.
Bit Info Charts has revealed that all wholecoiner addresses represent Bitcoin which has a value of around $ 301 billion.
This is in contrast to the total amount of low assets of 1BTC which is only $ 16 billion.
However, at the beginning of 2016 the record number of addresses owned by 1BTC actually decreased by 13.5% from 520,000 to 450,000.
Records in 2018 show that wholecoiner growth has stagnated with the number of addresses only recording around 720,000 to 690,000 for 12 months from December 2017.
Into The Block explains that 32.95 million Bitcoin addresses currently have a total of BTC value, showing wholecoiners representing only 0.47% of the balance of Bitcoin wallets
