US President Donald Trump is likely to sack Dr. Anthony Fauci, in response to the actions of the senior US public health expert who criticized the way he handled the coronavirus crisis.
Fauci had previously rejected Trump's allegations that the United States was working hard to fight the coronavirus pandemic when in fact tens of thousands of people were infected every day.
He also warned that the situation would worsen in the coming months and called on the US to make major changes in the implementation of public health and praised Joe Biden's campaign for taking the issue seriously.
Fauci's statement clearly sparked White House outrage, which described the comments of the leading infectious disease specialist as unacceptable and it was just a political game.
Speaking in public during a campaign in Florida on the last day of the campaign before tomorrow's election, Trump signaled he would fire Fauci when people shouted "Fire Fauci".
"Don't tell anyone but give me some time until after the election," Trump told his supporters.
