U.S. President Joe Biden is reportedly planning to appoint American Development Center Chief Executive Neera Tanden as Director of the Office of Management and Budget and economist Cecilia Rouse as Chairman of the Economic Advisory Council.
According to Reuters, Biden also plans to appoint a senior international economic adviser during Barack Obama's tenure, Wally Adeyemo, as Deputy Treasury Department.
Adding to the report, two economists, Jared Bernstein and Heather Boushey, will be appointed as members of the Economic Advisory Council.
However, Biden election campaign representatives did not comment on the report. Even Tanden, Rouse, Adeyemo, Bernstein and Boushey have not given any feedback so far.
Just like what happened to Obama in 2009, Biden had to face a dire economic situation when he was officially inaugurated on January 20.
Nearly 14 million Americans, most of whom used to work in the restaurant and hospitality industry, have received unemployment assistance that will end on December 26 but the ongoing wave of coronavirus pandemics has left their hopes of returning to work in the near future vague.
Biden is reportedly focused on taking America through the coronavirus crisis. Many Americans expect the Covid-19 pandemic stimulus package to be approved and the distribution of vaccines expected to take place early next year.
