Amazon owner Jeff Bezos this week reportedly sold his company's shares worth more than $ 3 billion.
This is not the first time the millionaire has acted that way. Last February, Bezos sold its firm shares worth more than $ 4.1 billion, followed by its decision to sell more than $ 3.1 billion shares in August.
His total assets, which have been sold for 2020 so far, amounted to more than $ 10.2 billion, an impressive record as the number of shares successfully sold by Bezos in 2019 was only $ 2.8 billion.
However, his actions did not affect the number of shares he owned. Bezos still has 53 million shares worth nearly $ 170 billion and has managed to maintain its position as the richest individual in the world.
According to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the transactions it makes are part of a 10b5-1 business plan.
Bezos previously said that Amazon's share of sales of about $ 1 billion annually was donated to its rocket company, Blue Origin.
Not only that, last February the figure launched a $ 10 billion Earth Fund in an effort to address the effects of climate change, which will issue grants to scientists, activists and several related organizations.
There are also allegations that Bezos will hand over $ 100 million to each of these organizations; Nature Conservancy, Environmental Defense Fund, Natural Resources Defense Council and World Wildlife Fund.
