Perodua car sales recorded the highest record of all time when 26,852 units were successfully sold last month.
Perodua previously recorded the highest monthly sales of 25,035 units in September.
In a statement issued by the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Datuk Zainal Abidin Ahmad said, his party also bought car spare parts of RM600 million from local suppliers last month to generate economic multiplier effect on the local automotive ecosystem affected by Covid- 19.
"In terms of production capacity, on average we reached 98% in October with 26,362 vehicles which is also our highest monthly production volume so far and produced at our manufacturing facility in Sungai Choh.
“This achievement was achieved based on the new standard operating procedures (SOP) followed by Perodua and our partners. This includes working from home and compulsory screening tests for those in the red zone, in addition to the original SOP introduced in May.
According to Zainal Abidin, the commitment of Perodua suppliers and dealers has ensured that more sales and more importantly customers feel happy because their vehicles are delivered at the best time.
Adding to the statement, Perodua sold 8,052 Myvi; 6,738 Axia; 6,895 Bezza; 3,193 Aruz and 1,974 Alza last month. Myvi, Axia and Bezza remain the best-selling models of the year.
“Our strategy to move forward is to increase the value and quality of our products and services for the Malaysian community. In terms of vehicle maintenance, there is no need to worry as we have enough spare parts to meet your every need as most of them are manufactured in the country.
"We strive to maintain sales and production momentum to ensure vehicle delivery remains high and our customers are satisfied with all our products and services," he said.
Perodua currently offers a cash redemption of up to RM1,500 for Aruz during the month, in addition to the current tax exemption value, subject to terms and conditions.
Apart from that, Perodua also offers a cash rebate of up to RM2,000 for its used vehicles until the end of the year at its sales branch in Jalan Pahang, Kuala Lumpur.
