Trump has lost, China is not satisfied anymore?

China today declined to congratulate Joe Biden on winning the US presidential election, arguing that the voting results have not been confirmed.

Although his rival, Donald Trump has not acknowledged his defeat and launched some legal challenges, the majority of world leaders congratulated Biden and his partner Kamala Harris after Democrats were announced as winners over the weekend and the victory celebrations were already taking place in American cities.

During Trump's 4 years in office, relations between the two countries, China and the United States, grew colder with trade wars erupting, with both countries pointing fingers at each other following the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Apart from China, several major countries including Russia and Mexico have also allegedly not congratulated the President.

According to Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin, the results of the presidential election will be confirmed based on US procedures and laws. In addition, he was rumored to not want to acknowledge Biden's victory but expressed hope that the new US government would hold a meeting with China.
