Through the social media site Twitter, World Health Organization (WHO) director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus told of his condition undergoing quarantine after being found in close contact with COVID-19 patients.
"I was confirmed as a close contact with patient # COVID-19."
"I am in good condition and have no symptoms but will undergo self-quarantine for a few days based on the protocol outlined by @WHO and will work from home."
The tweet was uploaded on Twitter yesterday.
Tedros is not the first known individual in the world to be associated with coronavirus symptoms.
Previously, the United Kingdom (UK) leader, Boris Johnson and the president of the United States (US), Donald Trump were also hotly debated as COVID-19 was confirmed positive.
So far active cases of coronavirus worldwide recorded nearly 12 million with a cumulative total of almost 47 million cases.
The US, India and Brazil are the top three countries contributing to the highest number of coronavirus infections with the highest number of deaths each, with over 100,000.
