Today, the U.S. House of Representatives finally approved the $ 900 billion Covid-19 aid package as part of a government effort to help support the economy and help people affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
In addition to the Covid-19 stimulus package, lawmakers also approved a $ 1.4 trillion stimulus measure to fund the government for another year.
Both bills that have been passed have been submitted to President Donald Trump for signature and turned into law. Trump is expected to sign a stimulus measure to fund the government.
The Covid-19 package linked to federal government funds totals $ 2.3 trillion in fiscal spending this year and is currently awaiting Trump's approval to become law.
Meanwhile, U.S. lawmakers switch to federal agency funding until December 28 to avoid the closure of government operations. Trump reportedly signed a ‘stopgap’ funding law on Tuesday.
The Covid-19 provision aims to generate a U.S. economy after the outbreak of the Covid-19 epidemic has curbed statewide economic growth in the U.S. More than 214,000 people are reported to be infected with this pandemic every day and 317,000 people have died.
The bill includes payments of $ 600 to eligible Americans and additional payments to millions of people laid off due to the impact of Covid-19.
U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin stated that the payment check will be distributed to the public as early as next week.
