Be careful! France Has Started Speaking

Negotiations between the UK and the European Union (EU) are getting complicated and France is adamant that it will not change its stance and oppose any agreement that will 'oppress' their fishermen.

French European Affairs Minister Clement Beaune said in a recent statement on Tuesday that in the fishing issue, there was no reason to give in to pressure from the UK.

Beaune also reiterated his earlier statement that France would use its veto power if a 'bad' deal was reached in these negotiations.

Meanwhile, UK Health Secretary Matt Hancock says they are fully prepared for any outcome and are ready to proceed without a deal if that is what the EU decides.

Hancock says UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson is working hard to get a Brexit deal that works for both parties.

Market expectations have now been placed on PM Johnson who will meet European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen today in Brussels after they failed to reach an agreement while discussing by phone.
