European Union executives on Thursday finally decided to reconsider a contingency plan amid an increasingly alarming Brexit crisis. According to the EU, the plan is in preparation for a 'no deal' at the end of this year to avoid any disruption in land and air traffic travel after both sides failed to break the deadlock.
The European Commission, on the other hand, suggested that Britain and the EU be tolerant of each other in offering access to their fishery waters for one year to ease the escalating tensions.
Britain calls on the EU to take all necessary steps to resolve this weekend to prevent any untoward incidents and to allow this issue to be debated in parliament.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson and EU chief executive Ursula Von der Leyen are scheduled to continue talks until Sunday to decide on the next step after failing to find a meeting point on the first day of face-to-face talks.
According to the Foreign Secretary, Dominic Raab reported that so far there is still a gap of difference between the EU and the UK but there is still room for improvement.
An agreement or not with the UK will not be in question at this week's European Council summit.
