According to a report, Apple Inc has faced lawsuits in several European Union (EU) countries demanding around 180 million euros following misleading statements about the longevity of the old iPhone battery.
As a result, a group of 5 European consumer organizations have filed such claims in Belgium and Spain and plan to take similar action in Italy and Portugal in the coming weeks. It allegedly involved users of various iPhone 6 devices.
In addition, the same case occurred in the US. Apple allegedly misled users about iPhone battery power and software updates that slowed down device performance. As a result, the California-based company last month agreed to pay $ 113 million dollars to settle the case with several U.S. regulators while customers sought approval from a U.S. court to file a $ 500 million lawsuit against the company.
Based on a statement, consumers are rumored to be increasingly frustrated with the over-selling products, for example the iPhone 6 model and even involve financial losses.
Meanwhile, the group also urged Apple to stop actions that force users to install updates that slow down their phones to the point that they need a new model.
However, Apple says that they did not take any deliberate action to shorten the lifespan of Apple products or ignore feedback from consumers to drive increased customers.
