US Presidential candidate Joe Biden received the first dose of Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine via live television yesterday.
According to Biden, he took the injection to show US citizens that the vaccine is safe.
Biden joined several political leaders who also took the injection including US Vice President Mike Pence and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
Biden said he took the injection to show that people need to be prepared when the time comes for them to take the vaccine.
In addition, Biden also praised the administration of President Donald Trump for launching the country's vaccine program.
Meanwhile, the future Vice President, Kamala Harris and her husband, Doug Emhoff are expected to receive the vaccine next week.
Biden's team set 100 million Covid-19 vaccines in the U.S. over the first 100 days of its White House administration.
To date, the US has recorded over 18 million Covid-19 cases and 319,000 deaths.
