US Vice President Kamala Harris yesterday announced the appointment of another senior official at the White House, Xinhua news agency reported.

In a statement, Harris said former US President Bill Clinton assistant Tina Flournoy would be its chief of staff.

Bernama reports that senior adviser to the Joe Biden-Harris transition team, Rohini Kosoglu will serve as domestic policy adviser and Nancy McEldowney, a diplomatic veteran, has been appointed as her security adviser.

Biden's transition team said all the appointments 'had the experience to serve as early as the first day'.

Harris late last month announced Symone Sanders would be his senior advisor and chief spokesman and Ashley Etienne would serve as communications director.

U.S. states are preparing to confirm Joe Biden's victory in the presidential election while President Donald Trump, who declined to admit his defeat, is still trying to overturn the decision by filing a lawsuit.

Harris, a U.S. senator from California will be the country's first female vice president of African American and Asian American descent when he is officially inaugurated.
