US President Donald Trump's campaign team filed a petition with the U.S. Supreme Court challenging the results of the Pennsylvania presidential election.
The matter was reported by the Sputnik News Agency as quoted by Bernama.
"Trump's campaign filed a petition asking the Supreme Court to issue a warrant to overturn three Pennsylvania election results that illegally alter Pennsylvania's postal voting law before and after the 2020 presidential election," Trump's team said on Twitter yesterday.
According to Trump's attorney, Rudy Giuliani, the petition seeks an order that allows Pennsylvania legislation to give Trump 20 electoral votes.
Earlier this month, Trump said the Supreme Court had ‘really disappointed us’ as the institution refused to challenge the presidential election results in Wisconsin, Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Michigan, after lawsuits were filed by the state of Texas.
US President-elect Joe Biden is confirmed to have won the November presidential election by a referendum on December 14 after all 50 states officially confirmed the voting results.
However, Trump still refused to admit defeat, accusing of vote-rigging, despite the 60 petitions his previous campaign had rejected.
