Today, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has appeared in parliament. He praised the negotiators who were able to act proactively to make the UK-EU trade agreement a success.
Recently, lawmakers and the administration are debating a deal that has been agreed to be ratified before 1 January 2021. If approved, the trade agreement, agreed between the UK and the EU on Christmas Eve, will take effect on 1 January after the end of the Brexit transition on 31 December. .
Johnson has made the statement that the UK will open a new page in the country's history by successfully reaching an agreement on a free trade agreement and reaffirming Britain's position in the eyes of the world. Johnson added that with this bill, the UK will be a close ally and close ally of the EU.
He also expressed pride in the progress made as Uruguay took almost 8 years to reach an agreement and 5 years for the EU to reach a trade agreement agreement with Canada, and six years with Japan. Yet the UK only needed less than a year, coupled with pandemic transmission.
