The President of the United States (US), Joe Biden signed an executive order to reopen the registration of the Affordable Health Care Act (ACA) or better known as Obamacare for three months.
According to Biden, due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic situation, this is the right time to restore access to affordable and affordable health services programs.
In addition, Biden also directed certain agencies to review policies that may reduce coverage in the Medicaid health care program for the low-income group.
The directive includes examining measures introduced under the Trump administration that allow states to impose strict conditions on aid applicants.
Biden also directed a review of burdensome policies for patients who already have the disease and any measures affecting the insurance market or Federal insurance registration.
"Today, I am going to sign two executive orders that basically, the best way to explain it is to restore the damage done by Trump.
"There is nothing new we can do other than bring back the ACA and Medicaid during Trump's presidency," Biden said.
Meanwhile, the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Democrats, Nancy Pelosi, praised Biden's action.
"We are very happy with the move because we are in the midst of a pandemic and we see this as a matter of life and death," said Pelosi.
Previously, under the Donald Trump administration, the registration period was only six weeks.
