Analysts attribute the recent spike in Bitcoin (BTC) to fail to bring up the price of most altcoins. The proof is that BTC's dominance over the whole market increased by 73% before declining 5% in 24 hours due to the latest surge.

Ethereum, however, pushed the altcoins jump by 40% in early 2021. As previously reported, ETH has recorded an all-time high (ATH) of $ 1,140.

Bitcoin Cash (BCH) jumped 25% to $ 445, Cardano (31%) to $ 0.23, Chainlink (25%) to 15% and Litecoin (21%) set the latest record at $ 174.

Similarly, Binance Coin (BNB) recorded a price level of $ 44 and Polkadot (DOT) traded at $ 10.5.

XRP was also seen reacting to the ETH surge, rising 15% in 24 hours to $ 0.25. However, it has been down more than 60% since mid-December.

Ethereum Classic recorded a 30% increase in prices, Aave (29%), VeChain (28%), and Uniswap (27%) to double digits.

Overall cryptocurrency market capitalization has recorded the latest figures, approaching $ 910 billion, making a total of $ 150 billion plus by 2021.

At the same time, as altcoins hit the latest price record, the BTC price movement was slightly weaker after a record spike of price spikes since last week.
