In the video, Alibaba founder appeared face to face with 100 teachers from rural areas across the country in a ceremony, the Jack Ma Rural Teacher Award.

Ma also shouted, "We will meet again when COVID-19 ends!"

According to a report from Tianmu News, the event is an annual event that was first launched by the Jack Ma Foundation in 2015. Usually it is held in Sanya, South China Hainan District every year ahead of the Chinese Profit Festival.

However, due to the spread of the COVID-19 epidemic, the event had to be conducted online for the first time.

The emergence of Jack Ma finally saw Alibaba shares in Hong Kong soar over 6% on the same day.

Previously, the loss of Jack Ma has sparked controversy related to the issue of the Chinese government's monitoring of its business entities, causing Alibaba shares to decline by more than 3%.

However, CNBC reported that the Chinese millionaire did not disappear but only avoided public attention.
