PM Muhyiddin General PERMAI Assistance

 The Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin announced the Malaysian Economic and People Protection Assistance Package (PERMAI) involving an allocation of RM15 billion.


Under the package, a total of 22 initiatives were introduced based on three main goals, namely fighting the Covid-19 epidemic, preserving the welfare of the people and supporting business continuity.


According to Muhyiddin, in a special message just now, the country's vaccination program is running smoothly and the government has signed an agreement with three vaccine manufacturing companies.


He said the first vaccine supply will be received by the end of February and the first batch to receive the vaccine is expected in early March.


Meanwhile, the people are also receiving good news when banks are ready to extend the moratorium assistance and loan repayment reduction.



Muhyiddin explained that a total of 15 banks have expressed their willingness to help flood victims and those affected by Covid-19.


Apart from that, Muhyiddin has also asked the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) to expedite the payment process of up to RM1000 for category 2 applicants from 26 January.


The 1GB Internet data package is also extended until April 30. In addition, special telecommunication packages for Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM), Sijil Pelajaran Tinggi Malaysia (STPM) and institutes of higher learning students are also extended until April.


Good news also for PTPTN borrowers, when Muhyiddin announced an extended moratorium for three months.


The government also announced a one-off assistance of RM500 to tourist guides, taxi drivers, school buses, sightseeing buses, rental cars and e-hailing.
