Good news for those looking for a job when Top Glove Corporation Bhd offers as many as 9,000 job opportunities for locals throughout the year to help address the unemployment problem in the country.
In a statement today as quoted by Bernama, the company hopes to achieve the target through a one-year hiring campaign that begins with the Top Glove Virtual Career Exhibition tomorrow.
“The program aims to offer employment opportunities to those who have just graduated from universities, vocational institutions as well as general workers in Malaysia.
“This involves a total of 4,000 positions for local workers; 2,300 positions for new university and technology vocational graduates; 2,000 industrial training trainees and trainees as well as 700 experienced workers, ”the statement said.
According to Top Glove Managing Director, Datuk Lee Kim Meow, the program is expected to help those who are looking for work to get a lucrative career.
"We understand that many talented and capable candidates have lost their jobs due to the ongoing pandemic impact.
"We are also proud to help and support Malaysians by offering this job which is also one of the important efforts to enable the country's economic and social recovery from this pandemic," he said.
The Covid-19 pandemic gave ‘good luck’ to Top Glove as the company experienced tremendous growth following a surge in global glove demand.
For the full financial year 2020, Top Glove recorded a net profit of RM1.87 billion compared to RM364.68 million previously, while its revenue jumped to RM7.24 billion from RM4.8 billion in 2019.
