Georgia's state election that decides which party will dominate the Senate is in full swing.
The results will be known within a few hours but if seen, both Democratic party candidates are in the lead at the moment.
Prospective President Joe Biden wants Democrats to win both seats to gain full Congress power.
Republican candidates Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue currently hold two Senate seats in Georgia. Both of them were challenged by Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff.
Republicans currently hold 52 of the 100 seats. If the Democrats win the by-election today, thus allowing the Democratic Vice President, Kamala Harris to cast a deciding vote.
Many had expected Harris to choose his own party, the Democrats.
The Democrats' victory is important so that Biden can implement his agenda, including on key issues such as health care and environmental law.
If Democrats win the election, Democrats for the first time since 2008 will control the White House, Senate and House of Representatives.
Meanwhile, the black community in Georgia is said to be the biggest contributor to the Democrats' victory.
In the United States, nine out of 10 black voters supported Biden during the last presidential election, according to polls conducted by 110,000 voters by the Associated Press.
Georgia's black community population accounts for one-third of the total American population.
