Israel Passes US Army Equipment Purchase Agreement

Israel slowly passes billions of US dollars to strengthen its air forces with war planes and advanced military equipment.

Royal broadcast KAN TV reported that after a three-year delay, the decision was made after a seven-hour Cabinet meeting was attended by the Minister of Defense, namely Benny Gantz.

Bernama reports that the $ 9 billion deal includes the purchase of Chinook helicopters, F-35 and F-16 warplanes, bombs, sophisticated weapons and aerial refueling tankers, he said.

The Ministry of Finance opposes the agreement because Tel Aviv needs to make a loan from a United States (US) bank to finance the draft and it aims to reduce annual aid from Washington.

The US, which is Israel's biggest backer of the army, announced in 2018 it would provide Tel Aviv US $ 38 billion in aid over 10 years.
