Bitcoin (BTC) recorded its latest record high (ATH) this morning at $ 47,131 following an investment announcement by Tesla Inc last night.
Tesla said in a statement that it had invested 7.7% in Bitcoin worth $ 1.5 billion, making the firm one of the giant holders of the crypto currency.
Analysts assume that after Tesla there is a possibility that several other firms will also venture into this sector and according to Royal Bank of Canda Dominion Securities analyst Paul Steves, one of them is Apple.
If Apple acts to launch a crypto exchange or buy Bitcoin, it is not impossible that the firm’s annual revenue will reach $ 40 billion.
However, at the time of writing Bitcoin was trading at $ 45,525 with a surge of over 19% in 24 hours, followed by altcoin and DeFi tokens which also recorded the highest record.
For example, Ethereum (ETH) last night and Polkadot (DOT) early this morning managed to record new ATH records at $ 1,770 and $ 23.61 respectively. Meanwhile, Terra (LUNA) and BitTorrent jumped 100% respectively.
The market capitalization of cryptocurrencies at the time of this writing reached $ 1.3 trillion.
