The team behind Cardano's development, IOHK in a recent report revealed the Mary Cardano protocol update will start airing on March 1.

Mary’s launch to the Mainnet shows the ADA is getting closer to the Goguen era.

The update will be activated by Hardfork Combinator which allows system switching without chain division in Cardano.

For the record, Mary Fork is a huge achievement for the Cardano project due to her smart contract with Goguen. Its launch on Mainnet marked the beginning of the ADA protocol transition from Shelley's decentralized era to the Goguen era.

This latest update will also introduce some native tokens and support for some other assets, including presenting various use cases such as non-fungible tokens (NFT), stablecoins, centralized finance (DeFi) and more.

At the same time, Mary will open up opportunities for developers who want to move or build user-generated native tokens in Cardano completely. This feature is meant to transform the decentralized blockchain into a multi-asset blockhain.

Mary is one of two hard forks needed to get started in Goguen, an era that promises the integration of several decentralized solutions and services.

Goguen will attract more third-party developers to the Cardano blockchain. This will result in a surge in demand for ADA tokens. The transition to Cardano will also increase the impact on the entire network.
