The arrival of the first batch of COVID-19 Pzer-BioNTech vaccines yesterday has sparked interest in buying at the pharmacy counter this morning.

At 10.13am, Pharmaniaga Bhd saw its shares rise seven sen to RM4.93 with 517,000 shares traded while Duopharma Biotech Bhd shares rose one sen to RM3.49 with 651,200 shares changing hands.

According to Bernama, Ho Wah Genting Bhd also rose 2.5 sen to 70.5 sen with 10.21 million shares traded.

However, the feeling of happiness due to the vaccine does not give good prospects to the rubber glove counter.

At 10.13am, Top Glove Corporation Bhd recorded high selling pressure with its shares declining 19 sen to RM5.86, with 6.61 million shares traded.

At the same time, Supermax Corporation Bhd declined 24 sen to RM5.56, with 5.13 million shares traded while Hartalega Holdings Bhd declined four sen to RM12.02, with 672,300 shares changing hands.

Meanwhile, Rakuten Trade Sdn Bhd is confident that sentiment will be boosted by news of the Covid-19 vaccine.

However, performance is expected to be denied as the glove counter will see continued sales, he said in a note today.

With the first batch of 312,390 doses of Pzer-BioNTech vaccine arriving in the country yesterday and Malaysia is now joining the global community in the fight against coronavirus.
