7 Important Economic Data News Market Focus This Week (March 22-26, 2021)

 Here are some of the important economic data that will be the focus of the market throughout the week.


UK Employment Data Report (Tuesday 3.00pm): The UK average income is seen to show an upward pattern reaching 4.7% in December and is also expected to increase for the January reading. However, the unemployment rate is expected to continue to rise.


UK Inflation Data (Wednesday 3.00pm): The UK consumer price index is expected to rise to 0.8% for February while the core reading is also expected to rise for the third consecutive month.


European Manufacturing and Services PMI Data (Wednesday 5.00pm): The PMI index reading still shows continued expansion above the 50.0 point level since July last year. Recent readings are not expected to show significant changes.



UK Manufacturing and Services PMI Data (Wednesday 5.30pm): Similarly, the UK PMI index readings for the manufacturing and services sectors are seen to show stable figures.


Swiss Central Bank Policy Meeting (Thursday 4.30pm): The Swiss National Bank (SNB) is expected to continue to keep interest rates unchanged at -0.75%. Follow -up statements by the central bank will be heeded by investors for future policy indications.


US Gross Domestic Product Data (Thursday 8.30pm): The final reading for US GDP growth for the last quarter of 2020 is forecast to be unchanged from the previous reading of 4.1%.


UK Retail Sales Data (Friday 3.00pm): Consumer spending is expected to jump for February to 2.2% compared to a -8.2% decline in January. The upward reading trend will give an indication of economic recovery in the UK.
