Russian President Vladimir Putin slammed his US counterpart Joe Biden for calling him a 'killer' in a recent interview.
Following that, Putin through Russian TV challenged Biden to face him live.
Putin explained that face-to-face talks would be more 'interesting' for both Russia and the US.
He dismissed allegations by Biden that his security forces tried to assassinate opposition party politician Alexei Navalny.
In addition, Putin also accused the US of committing genocide against Americans and killing many people in the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki during World War II.
According to Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov, the latest US allegations are not supported by any evidence and will affect relations between the two countries.
Biden, in an interview with ABC News, also stressed that Putin will face action for allegedly interfering in the US presidential election last year.
When asked what action would be taken against Putin, Biden simply replied: "You will know soon."
Biden's statement caused Russia to recall its ambassador to the US following a 'deadlock' between relations between the two countries.
