U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken slammed China by saying that the Asian country was being more aggressive and showing more of its oppressive nature.

During his visit to Japan, Blinken warned that the United States would increase pressure on Beijing if necessary.

China uses coercion and aggression systematically to erode autonomy in Hong Kong, undermine democracy in Taiwan, abuse human rights in Xinjiang and Tibet, and claim the South China Sea.

According to Blinken, the United States is also united in a vision of a free and open Indo-Pacific, where nations follow rules, always work together and resolve their disputes peacefully.

Therefore, America will refuse if China uses coercion or repression to get what it wants.

Blinken's statement came days before he and national security adviser Jake Sullivan held live talks with the Chinese delegation.

Bliken and Sullivan will meet with Yang Jiechi, a member of the Communist Party's highest decision -making body, and Wang Yi, Alaska's foreign minister, on March 18.
