The global cryptocurrency market is increasingly attracting the interest of many people either among retail investors or from institutions. The surge in demand for Bitcoin is not only attracting public interest but also attracting more ‘scammer’ looking for ‘newbies’.

One of the latest cases is that of Ramesh J, a lecturer in India. It is understood that he has just dabbled in the crypto world. According to a report by the Times of India, this Indian lecturer was deceived by a fake ‘crypto expert’ at Telegram and lost nearly $ 14,000 Bitcoin.

As a newcomer to the crypto world, Ramesh has joined several crypto -related Telegram groups to get more information on cryptocurrencies such as crypto trading terms and processes.

However, it is unfortunate that the Indian lecturer asked for the help of a 'crypto expert' at Telegram to transfer his Bitcoin into his CoinSwitch Kuber wallet. Not only that, he was also offered the service of managing his funds to get more profit.

Nearly $ 14k in Bitcoin was found missing and the ‘scammer’ also disappeared. Ramesh eventually lodged a complaint with the nearest police office. Therefore, investors are advised to be careful and preferably get more information before making a decision.
