U.S. House of Representatives is expected to approve a $ 1.9 trillion COVID-19 aid bill as early as Tuesday. A consent vote would allow the Democratic president to sign the bill.

The approval of the package would be one of the largest U.S. poverty eradication measures since the 1960s. Democrat Katherine Clark said only paperwork remained but the administration would have a referendum as soon as possible.

The bill will now be resubmitted to the U.S. House of Representatives for final approval before it is handed over to Joe Biden. The first version of the bill was passed with all the support of Democrats while all Republicans opposed it.

However on Monday two of the Democrats stated that they would re-vote and would likely be in favor of the Republicans.

The U.S. Senate approved a $ 1.9 trillion coronavirus stimulus package on Saturday after more than 24 hours of debating legislation and amendments to it.

It passed in a 50-49 vote, with all Democratic lawmakers voting to agree. The administration will hold a final vote on Tuesday.
