TNB triggers the Monsoon!

 The share price of Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) rose by 16 sen or 1.5% to RM10.82 during the Bursa Malaysia trading session this morning after the company announced its dividend payment date yesterday.


TNB also confirmed yesterday that its subsidiary, TNB Renewables Sdn Bhd received a letter of notification that it has been shortlisted as a bidder from the Energy Commission (EC) to develop a large -scale solar plant in Bukit Selambau, Kedah.


At 10.17am, TNB's share price hit RM10.78 after trading between RM10.82 and RM10.72 as of today.


At RM10.78, TNB has a market value of about RM61.45 billion based on 5.7 billion shares traded.



TNB plans to pay a dividend of 58 sen per share consisting of a final payment of 18 sen and a special dividend of 40 sen for the fourth quarter ending 31 December 2020.


Yesterday, the company in a notification to Bursa Malaysia said, the dividend payment date is on March 30 and April 16.


The rise in TNB's share price today is expected by analysts.


According to TA Securities Holdings Bhd in a note today, clean or renewable energy related stocks will attract investors due to the bright prospects in the sector.
