The Covid-19 vaccine ordered by Malaysia has exceeded 108% of the total population of the country.

Bernama reported that the matter was informed by the Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Datuk Ahmad Amzad Hashim.

He said the public need not worry as the National Covid-19 Immunization Program provided was adequate.

“My advice to all Malaysians now, please register with the MySejahtera application because the vaccine program we provide is sufficient for everyone.

"In terms of turn, any activity to cut our ranks is not allowed, including those who do not belong to the front row list and the matter can be complained about," he said after the MyCar 3.0 Application Launching Ceremony yesterday.

Ahmad Amzad added that Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) also assured that there would be no electricity supply disruption that could affect the storage of Covid-19 vaccines, especially Pfizer-BioNTech which requires a temperature of -70 degrees Celsius.

He explained that discussions with TNB were conducted last week to ensure that they have a replacement plan so that there is no disruption to the electricity supply.

"We do not want what happened in Japan, which I understand as much as 1,000 doses of vaccine had to be discarded just because the electricity supply was cut off suddenly last week.

"So all this has been taken into account and hopefully, we hope the matter does not happen and we have also taken the necessary steps," he said.

In a different development, Ahmad Azman said, media organizations can send applications to the government to list media practitioners in the phase one frontline personnel category.
