Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse in an Axios documentary program on HBO told XRP will still be traded even though Ripple no longer exists.

"If you own securities, indirectly you also have the ownership of a firm. If Ripple is no longer relevant, XRP will remain traded, ”he explained.

For now, the only country accusing XRP of being a security is the United States (US).

Ripple, the firm that issues altcoin XRP was sued by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) last December for offering XRP when it was not registered as a security.

However, last week Ripple issued a letter of application to drop the suit case on the grounds that the allegations issued by the SEC were invalid.

At the same time, the executive also told the SEC’s actions would have a negative impact on the entire crypto industry.

“Not only is it bad for Ripple, but it has a widespread negative impact on the crypto sector in the US. In fact, it will push the currency trading activity out of the US. ”

To date despite facing an SEC lawsuit, the firm has successfully signed partner agreements with 15 banks outside the U.S..
