The United States (US) is taking proactive steps to avoid expensive arms races, reduce the role of nuclear weapons and hold arms control talks with Russia and China.
Bernama reported that the matter was announced by the White House in the new national security interim guide.
"We will stop the expensive arms race and rebuild our credibility as leaders in arms control.
"Because of that, we are moving fast to extend the New START Agreement with Russia. We will also continue with the new arms control arrangements, ”according to the guide issued yesterday.
Adding to the guide, the US will hold a dialogue with Russia and China on various developments in military technology that affect strategic stability.
In addition, the US will ensure a safe, secure and effective prevention strategy.
The White House has also vowed to maintain a strong and credible prevention commitment to its allies.
