Why Did EU Countries Start Postponing AstraZeneca Vaccine Injection?

Germany, Ireland and the Netherlands have listed their names on a list of developed countries that have suspended the use of the Covid-19 vaccine developed by AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford over the problem of blood clots.

The Dutch administration stated on weekday that their country would not use the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine at least until March 29th. Ireland also stated the same thing by temporarily stopping the injection of the vaccine as a precautionary measure. Today, the German administration also said that they are taking steps to delay the use of the vaccine.

On the other hand, the World Health Organization (WHO) reiterates the same statement that there is no link between vaccine injections and blood clotting problems. The UN health agency also urged countries to continue using the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine. Despite experts' confirmation, a number of European countries are still continuing to stop using the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine temporarily.

The move to suspend its use by Dutch and Irish officials came shortly after the Norwegian medicine agency said it had been told there were a number of issues found to have symptoms of blood clots.

So far the case is still under investigation. The European Union is also facing the problem of the distribution of vaccine distribution among EU countries which if it continues could have an impact on the economy.
