Many Problems Arise, Australia Forgets 'Targets' For Vaccines

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison said he would not set a new target date for all Australians to receive doses of their Covid-19 vaccine as concerns about the AstraZeneca vaccine and European export restrictions have slowed the launch.

Although the government plans to fully give the first dose before the end of the year, due to uncertainty about the vaccine, it is difficult for the government to set targets.

However, according to Morrison, vaccine launches in Australia are still ahead compared to countries such as Japan, France and Canada.

The issue of side effects of blood clots from AstraZeneca vaccine injections and vaccine export restrictions by Europe have hampered vaccination efforts in Australia.

To date, about 1.2 million of the 25.8 million people in the country have received the first dose. Still, the number recorded was 3 million less than expected, causing the Morrison administration to receive criticism.

Australia recorded less than 30,000 Covid-19 cases after closing its international borders and imposing stricter conditions on tourists wishing to enter the country.

The closure has devastated the tourism industry and the education sector, which is highly dependent on the education sector, and economic recovery has been hampered by temporary closures implemented in several states to curb the spread.
