The Ministry of Health (MOH) has proposed that the cross-state movement for the Aidilfitri celebration this year be postponed due to the Covid-19 transmission situation which is still at an alarming level.
According to the Minister of Health, Datuk Seri Dr. Adham Baba, the proposal was made following complaints and appeals from various parties for the government to postpone the permission of the movement.
“As we know, most states are under the Conditional Movement Control Order (PKPB) and the Rehabilitation Movement Control Order (PKPP) until April 28.
“As daily cases are still increasing and not yet stable, then cross -state needs to be postponed. The vaccination program is still underway, ”he said as reported by Bernama.
Malaysia recorded 2,148 Covid-19 cases today compared to 1,889 cases yesterday.
Asked about the possibility of those who completed receiving two doses of Covid-19 vaccine injections were allowed to cross-state, Drs. Adham said his party was still waiting for findings from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention based in the United States (US).
"We are still waiting for this finding to get a decision on whether this can be allowed," he explained.
