Top Glove Committed to Forced Labor Issues

 Top Glove Corp Bhd completed all 11 forced labor indicators issued by the International Labor Organization (ILO) effective April 22.


In a statement today, the world's largest rubber glove maker said the solution to the 11 ILO forced labor indicators was confirmed by the United Kingdom's (UK) independent international consulting firm, Impactt Ltd in its report dated April 22.


"Therefore, Top Glove has successfully completed all 11 ILO forced labor indicators on April 22," the statement said as reported by Bernama.



Top Glove added that since July last year, the company had been in discussions with Impactt on advice on measures to improve the firm's labor policies and practices.


"We remain committed to being the best company, ensuring the welfare, health, safety, workplace conditions and housing of our 21,000 high -quality workforce," he explained.


Last month, the US Department of Customs and Border Protection (GST) announced it would confiscate gloves produced in the country by Top Glove Corp Bhd on allegations of using forced labor.


Shares of Top Glove rose 11 sen or 1.92% to RM5.84 during a break this afternoon and its market capitalization was RM47.93 billion.
