Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is reportedly ready to take humans into space.

According to a statement by Bezos -owned company Blue Origin, a rocket known as the New Shepard and its capsule system will carry passengers on July 20.

All of the passengers are likely to be staff of the company itself but one seat has been auctioned off online.

The New Shepard rocket is designed to carry passengers flying over 100 kilometers above sea level also known as the Karman Line.

The Karman line is designated by international treaty as the starting point of space.

“Only 569 people have ever crossed the Karman Line. With the New Shepard rocket, we are going to change that dramatically, ”said Blue Origin astronaut sales director Ariane Cornell.

However, he declined to comment further on whether Bezos will also be on the flight on July 20 or not.

Adding Blue Origin, the company hopes the New Shepard will provide a valuable experience to passengers.

The company has so far not discussed the price of flights in the future but informed that the income earned will be channeled to its foundation which promotes science and technology education.

However, the company expects to earn US $ 200,000 per seat.
