An assembly ban was imposed in Wellington after an Australian from Sydney who was infected with Covid had traveled to the New Zealand capital and visited various popular tourist locations.

Although it has not yet been confirmed whether the individual carried the Delta variant outbreak, but according to epidermiologists, there is a possibility he was a carrier.

New Zealand authorities have released a preliminary list of locations the individual has visited, and those who have visited it at the time listed are advised to undergo a smear test and isolate themselves.

Under New Zealand’s second -level restrictions, gatherings are limited to less than 100 people with keeping social distance and face masks mandatory when using public transport.

Meanwhile in Sydney, about 1 million residents were barred from leaving the city after a sharp increase in cases of infection was reported, of which a total of 13 cases have been recorded in the last 24 hours.

This situation has raised government concerns over the rapid spread of the epidemic and the possibility that it is caused by the Delta variant.

The Delta variant first detected in India or also known as Super Strain and multiple mutations, is the most dangerous SARS-CoV-2 mutation in the world. It spreads faster and can lead to more deaths.

This will indirectly put the Aussie and New Zealand dollars at risk, especially Australia which still has low vaccination rates.

However, during the European session, the Aussie and New Zealand dollars each traded stable following the weak US dollar.
