Bursa Malaysia Upgrades With New Digital Services

 Bursa Malaysia Bhd has provided a new service which investors can use to subscribe to electronic rights issues (eRights) on the Bursa Anywhere mobile application.


Judging by the facts of Bursa Malaysia, with the addition of services (eRights) investors no longer need a physical rights subscription form and travel to the bank or post office for payment.


Not only that, the exchange also said that this eRights service is capable of providing a beneficial method for in -app depositors and making payments for rights issues electronically on the Exchange Anywhere app.


According to the Chief Executive Officer of Bursa Malaysia, Datuk Muhamad Umar Swift said that with these new features, it may be possible to apply for misplaced or delayed rights securities during postal service.



"Any refund arising from the surplus of share applications will continue to be credited into the investor's bank account and no longer as before who must wait for the refund check sent by post," he said.


Exchange Anywhere is also used as a mobile application that can be used to give investors access in managing their central deposit system (CDS) accounts remotely.


In addition to using the eRights service, it said the app can also use CDS account opening, e-dividend subscription as well as reactivation of inactive accounts.


So far, since the Bursa Anywhere app launched in June 2019, it has garnered more than 190,000 downloads.
